Confessions of a Mixologist: Cuca Fresca Cocktails


Cuca Fresca is a family owned and operated company with a passion for making quality cachaça. Fourth-generation family member, Araci Ferreira and her husband came up with the idea for Cuca Fresca when they brought small batches of her family’s cachaca from Brazil to New York. Cuca Fresca is made with superior, organic sugarcane. The name Cuca Fresca comes from a Brazilian expression “cool head” which basically means “to relax.”


Cuca’s Signature Caipirinha

2 oz. Cuca Fresca Prata
6 Cubes of Fresh Lime
1 oz. Simple Syrup
Simple Steps: Muddle lime and syrup in a small shaker. Mix ice in with Cuca Fresca and shake well. Pour into a rocks glass and enjoy!


Cuca Tanga

2 oz. Cuca Fresca Prata
2 oz. Cranberry Juice
1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
1 oz. Simple Syrup
Simple Steps: Combine all ingredients in an ice-filled shaker. Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass.

  1. What the heck is 6 cubes of lime? All limes are basicaly the sam size and shape. How about 1/2 a lime like I use per Caipirinha or 1/4 lime so we know what you mean. Cachaca with cane sugar sounds like a good idea that speeds up the drink making process.
