If you’re a fan of Small Town Brewery, you already know that you can’t purchase their liquid gold in anything but a keg. That is until now. The Wauconda brewery is releasing a few cases of Not Your Father’s 10% and 19.5% Root Beer in bottles for the first time in Illinois. The bottles will only be available at Binny’s in Algonquin that evening. We expect to see more at all of the stores in 2014. These few cases are expected to sell out quick, so get there early.
Why do we love pisco? We love the freshness and mixability of this world-class spirit. And one of our absolute favorites is Pisco Porton, one of Peru’s premium piscos. Here is your chance to learn more about this handcrafted pisco and meet one of the foremost pisco authorities in the word, Porton Master Distiller Johnny Schuler.

If you’ve been to any of the Grand Opening week events at Binny’s Evergreen Park, hopefully you’ve noticed the high level of excitement like we have. We feel honored to have all stars like Dan Hampton, Ben Smith, Mike Ditka and Mayor James Sexton helping us celebrate.
Another group of all-stars that have inspired all of us is Christmas Without Cancer. This organization’s mission is far beyond inspiring. With their drive, energy and goal in mind, these volunteers are able to provide holiday gifts, as well as basic necessities to local families such as gift cards for gasoline and groceries. Don’t be fooled by the name, though. They work all year round to help as many families as possible. They know that cancer doesn’t only affect the patient, but the entire family. We showed our support for this community organization with the charitable gift of $10,000.
Dec 5th, 1933 was a great day in American History. It marked the passage of the 21st Amendment to the US Constitution, repealing prohibition. Thirteen long years of alcohol prohibition were plagued by an upswing in violence and organized crime. Illicit alcohol still made its way to the streets, often of dubious and sometimes downright dangerous quality. So this repeal day, pick up a couple bottles of the “Real McCoy” and mix yourself a classic cocktail.
Last month we packed our bags and hit the road. Big Sky invited us out to their brewery in Montana to see how our exclusive batch of Ivan the Terrible was doing.
Join us for a special meet and greet with Shannon, the Loop Rock Girl courtesy of Labatt Blue. Stop by to grab a picture with Shannon, get an autograph and try some Labatt Blue.

What makes Binny’s Beverage Depot the best place to find your new favorite wine? Is it our low prices? Our breathtaking selection? We like to think it’s because we have the friendliest, most knowledgeable wine staff around. So for this month’s Wine Hotline Staff Picks, we turned to our Downers Grove wine department for their favorite holiday recommendations.
On my most recent trip to Ireland I had the opportunity to travel with Bord Bia (the Irish Food Board) and attend their Origin Green Conference focused on sustainability and green food and beverage production in Ireland. I met Ireland’s Prime Minister Enda Kenny, watched the Gaelic football championship game (Ireland’s Superbowl) in a traditional Irish pub and visited my favorite brewery, Guinness.
Day one of my trip started in the County Cork at the historic Midleton Distillery. Midleton is home to Jameson, Powers, Paddy and pure potstill Redbreast, one of the best Irish whiskeys on our shelf. They also provide whiskey on contract to support long existing independent brands.
Surly at Binny’s? Yes.
I have personally done like three beer trades in my whole life. And at least two of them were to get Surly. Because Surly. One time I slept for three hours in a tent on a 34 degree night to get Surly. You know the one I mean. So I got excited when I heard that Surly is indeed coming to Chicago in a full-time, everyday availability sort of way.
Which Surly? Furious. Hell. Cynic. Overrated. Bender. Coffee Bender.
We’re kicking things off at the new Binny’s Evergreen Park, and some of our Chicago sports pals are stopping by to help us out. First:
Monday, December 2nd
Meet Chicago Blackhawks player Ben Smith courtesy of Bud Light and The Score. Ben will answer questions, sign photographs and pose for pictures. And he’s bringing some Bud Light Ice Crew ladies, too.
