"From the famed Dante Dusi Vineyard, this is the first year Ledge purchased Dusi fruit. This is an unknown clone of Zinfandel, although it has been referred to as the 'Dusi Clone' which is not really accurate. It was purchased from a California nursery in the 1920s. The Dusi family are lifelong friends – I went to kindergarten through 12th grade with Michael Dusi (Dante’s grandson) at Templeton – and so they let us purchase otherwise very sold out old vine zinfandel grapes. Picked from a variety of blocks that Turley also buys fruit from. 50% whole cluster (pigeage as it is sorted into T Bin) fermentation with wild yeast. 4 weeks on the skins. Aged 18 months in new Hungarian and neutral French oak."
